Baron DeKalb Chapter
National Society Daughters of the American

The Baron DeKalb Chapter was organized on November 22, 1912, in
Clarkston, Georgia, and is named for a German-born patriot who volunteered for
the Colonists and fought with General Washington at Valley Forge. He died following a fatal wound received at
the Battle of Camden in South Carolina and is buried in front of the
Presbyterian Church in Camden.
We hold our meetings at 10:30a.m. on the fourth Friday of
September through May, except for November and December, when meetings are on
the third Friday, at the First Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia. We welcome visitors and those interested in
joining our chapter.
